Hubris
- Politics, polemics, hubris are the symptoms of the ecumenical system. In the absence of democratic practices and anthropocentric policies, autocrats opt for polemical dogmas (casus belli) and aggression. Polemics, fanaticism and antagonism are related to religion, geography, politics and economy. Hubris is still much present.
- The dramatic human exodus is a tragedy; yet, its weaponization practiced in 2020 by Turkey and now by Belarus may be considered as a disgraceful and ugly form of aggression.
- Our “cosmos” is characterized by power politics. Synergy is volatile and allegiance to alliances is challenged while the topology of the ecumenical power symmetry is elliptic. The bipolar world order has collapsed, while today the super power monopoly is challenged with persistent reference to the Thucydides trap. Restoring the Aristotelian “metron” to politics is the epitome and not the epilogue for the polis and ecumenical policies.“Politis” is the basis and the scope of the democratic Politeia. Otherwise, politics are synonymous to idiocy.
